True Detective is back with its season 4 titled True Detective Night Country and True Detective Season 4 Release Date has been announced. So, Hurray! for all the True Detective fans as here we will go through the True Detective Season 4 Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Many More.

True Detective has been a great crime drama series since its first season was aired in 2014. Written and Created by Nic Pizzolatto, True Detective has received many awards and accolades for its complex storytelling and compelling characters.

True Detective caught the attention of its audiences from the very first season and now it’s time for True Detective Season 4. All the new seasons which revolve around a completely different plot and cast make it a guessing game of what will the new season bring to the table.

Before diving into the plot and details of True Detective Night Country let’s have a brief go-through of all the previous seasons of True Detective. The seasons of True Detective have nothing in common in terms of plot but they share the same format and structure.

In the first season, we saw Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as Cohl and Hart as they both investigated the murder of a young woman in Louisiana. The show keeps running back and forth between the events that occurred in 1995 and after twelve years Cohl and Hart being questioned about the old case and how they solved it.

The second season of True Detective has received a mixed reception from critics and audiences. This season transports us to California where we see Colin Farrell as Detective Ray Velcoro who tries to join forces with the country sheriff Ani Bezzerides aka Rachel McAdams and veteran and CHP officer Paul Woodrow aka Taylor Kitsch. Together they try to investigate the death of a corrupt city manager.

The third season of True Detective is set in Ozark Mountains of Arkansas which spans the course of three decades. Here in this season, we will see Stephen Dorff aka Roland West, and Mahershala Ali aka Detective Wayne Hays. They both investigate the mysterious disappearance of two young children in 1980.

True Detective Season 4 Plot:

True Detective Night Country will be set in Ennis, Alaska, a town that remains in darkness for 24 hours a day for a few weeks. The locals say it is a natural phenomenon known as The Long Night. During the last sunset before the long night, a group of men disappears from their working place at Tsalal Arctic Research Station leaving only their shoes behind as the only clue.

Detective Liz Danvers along with Detective Evangeline Navarro tries to investigate the missing group of men. Detective Liz informed me that the place from where the men disappeared should be a crime scene. It is similar to the previous seasons where there was also a cryptic spiral symbol linked to the case.

When you watch the new teaser of True Detective Night Country you can see Liz places photos of the missing men around her on the floor and then we also see the spiral which is painted on the side of one building that looks like blood.

This spiral symbol which is shown in True Detective Night Country can also be seen in previous seasons which if we correctly recall can be seen on the bodies of the victims of the first season which Cohl experienced in his investigation.

So, in True Detective Season 4, we will witness if there’s something hidden beneath the ice of Ennis, Alaska. Hence both the Detectives have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves and dig into the hidden truths that are buried under the eternal ice.
