Gangnam Zombie Movie Review
We all have seen zombie movies at least once in our life. They are such creatures that come to life when they die. Basically, these are mortal beings who are infected by a virus known as the “zombie virus”. So, when one zombie bites a normal person then in that person’s body the virus starts to take over and then make it a live zombie. Such an amazing power right!!
We have seen in movies that if a person turns into a zombie then there is no way possible to bring him back to his normal life. But in many movies, there are some scientists who develop some antibody against the zombie virus although chances are quite less to bring them back to a normal life.
Some famous zombie movies like the Resident Evil series, Dawn of the Death, Dead Trigger, World War Z, Army of the Dead, All of us are dead, etc. In these movies, we can see what zombies are like and what they can do if they achieve their full power.
Today we are going to talk about one such zombie movie which is named Gangnam Zombie Movie. This is a 2023 Korean zombie movie that can be watched on Amazon Prime. I have gone through people’s reviews of this movie and this movie is not a much-appreciated zombie movie.
Gangnam Zombie Movie starts when two people try to steal a van which was full of jewelry. Then suddenly they witness a cat inside the van.
One of them realizes that the cat isn’t acting normally. With a surprise, the cat jumped and bit one of the people. He tried to throw away the cat and he had a very hard time while trying to escape from the cat as it was not a normal cat.
But with all the efforts he was at last able to run away the cat. The cat did give a deep cut to the person he was covered with blood. After some time he has acting weird, looks like he has no control over his body and he was turning into a zombie.
The other person was very afraid and worried about this incident so he wanted to run away but it was too late to call for help. He was also bitten by his friend which turned him into a zombie.
The person tripped and he fell into a lake which led him to a building where Hyeon-Seok works as a Youtuber. He was working as a Youtube influencer with a company that wanted to make him a big Youtube star.
Hyeon’s colleague, boss, and editor were working as a team in this building where they haven’t paid their three months’ rent. Hyeon had a crush on the editor of the team and her name was Min-Jeong.
On Christmas Eve evening, Hyeon wanted to take Min-Jeong to a night-out concert. Min-Jeong was on the streets arguing with a man when he spiked a woman’s drink.
Seeing Min-Jeong arguing with the man and then the man trying to hurt Min-Jeong, hyeon taught the man a lesson with his taekwondo skills as the man was trying to hurt his crush.
This didn’t impress Min-Jeong and she left the place. Meanwhile, the zombies were making their way to the building.
The landlord of the building was doing her job and then she realizes that Hyeon’s boss hasn’t paid the three months’ rent and also the team’s salary was stuck for three months.
At the same time, the landlord realizes that the building is infected by the zombies. She doesn’t want to make this incident into the media as her building value will decrease and there will be many problems.
So, she informed this incident to Hyeon’s boss and told him that if they can help secure the building from the zombies then their rent will be relieved.
This was an awesome opportunity for the media company to capture viral content with a zombie in it so they agreed to help. Hyeon-Soek’s team agreed to fight the zombies and in that process, Hyeon’s senior colleague turns into a zombie.
A zombie gave a one-on-one fight to Hyeon after all Hyeon wasn’t able to defeat the zombie with his national taekwondo skills. At last Min-Jeong and Hyeon-Soek are the last people standing.
Min-Jeong wanted to call the cops but she was stopped by the landlord and her phone was thrown away by her.
Both Min-Jeong and Hyeon Soek were the last two people who were there fighting the zombies in the building. There was a car where Hyeon asked Min to get into the car to be safe from the zombies. And Hyeon got on the top of the car and fought the zombies but this didn’t last for long because the zombies out-numbered them.
Finally, Hyeon manages to bring the zombies to the other side by creating a ruckus. As he was surrounded by the zombies and there was no way to escape then Min-Jeong came to secure Hyeon with the help of a fire extinguisher.
Both of them were safe from the zombies but the first zombie again showed up and this time Hyeon and Min teamed up to fight the zombies.
Hyeon smashed the zombie’s head with a baseball bat.
The landlady was also a zombie who turned up and bites Hyeon. As the landlord was told she didn’t have any sharp teeth so this helped Hyeon to escape once again. This time Min hit the landlord with a baseball bat and after that both Min and Hyeon escaped the building by opening the basement door but they didn’t close the door.
The movie ends with zombie number one standing up again and getting out of the building as the door was open. This was a careless move in the movie as the zombies could show up again.
